This post will help you to block any websites on your system without any software .

Nevigate to C:WindowsSystem32driversetc

Open hosts file with any text editor.

You will see these two lines in the file

   1: 127.0.0.1       localhost
   2: ::1             localhost

Now Append this line with 127.0.0.* and the website address you want to block.

For example

   1:
   2: 127.0.0.1       localhost
   3: ::1             localhost
   4: 127.0.0.2        www.sex.com

Like this I have blocked many malicious and unwanted website which has the potential to infect my system :

hosts thumb

   1: 127.0.0.1    www.007guard.com
   2: 127.0.0.1    007guard.com
   3: 127.0.0.1    008i.com
   4: 127.0.0.1    www.008k.com
   5: 127.0.0.1    008k.com
   6: 127.0.0.1    www.00hq.com
   7: 127.0.0.1    00hq.com
   8: 127.0.0.1    010402.com
   9: 127.0.0.1    www.032439.com
  10: 127.0.0.1    032439.com
  11: 127.0.0.1    www.0scan.com
  12: 127.0.0.1    0scan.com

You can use this trick as well, other wise don’t forget to use one of these Top Anti-virus, If you are using nod 32 don’t forget to see nod32 keygen site.

You must remember this blocking technique is easy to get around. For example, you wish to block facebook and add both a line with the www and a line without but there is still another address to login. It is facebooklogin.com. Many sites have 3 or 4 different pages that point you to the main page. Another good step to do is to ensure the users of the PC do not have administrative rights to the PC. If they are just normal “users” they will be unable to reedit the hosts file. You should probably employ this strategy just in case they google “unblocking sites”.
I’ve made a point and click instructional video on how to edit the hosts file. It can be found here http://helpviavideo.com/watch.php?vidid=37
