For branding it is very important that you consider selecting the one icon everywhere. If you create cd’s dvd’s or carry a portable drive to exchange data and if you are not branding it using your own Icon you are missing a great chances of branding yourself.
Adding icons to your portable media drives is very easy. All you need is an .ico file and a notepad.
If you don’t have any ico file with you you can easily create one for you using Coolutils .
So you have your .ico file with you by now. Name your ico file as Test.ico
Now open a notepad and copy paste this two lines
[autorun]
type “ICON=Test.ICO”
now save the notepad file as autorun.inf
Copy the autorun.inf and test.ico file on the root of your portable media. You can also use it to give a custom icon to your C:// , D:// and other drives.
Experiment with it and give a new look to your CD/DVDs/Dirves and pen drives.
