What is the number one thing all bloggers want? More traffic of course.

Driving traffic is one of the main pillars of blogging. Without traffic, your site is just another blip in this thing we call the Internet.  While there are many ways to drive traffic to your blog one stands mighty above the rest. Guest blogging is a super easy way to drive hordes of targeted traffic to your blog. Forget bum marketing – let’s take a look at why guest blogging trumps traditional traffic driving techniques.

Guest blogging is all about the “trade off.” Where normal traffic driving techniques only help one person, guest blogging helps both the guest poster as well as the blog owner. The guest poster gets exposure, as well as gains credibility in their niche. The blog owner gets fresh content from a new perspective. This is a win-win situation.

Guest blogging can drive hordes of laser targeted visitors to your site.

Unlike traditional article marketing, guest blogging can really help you ”zero in” on your visitors interests. You can literally pick and choose what blogs you want to guest post on – based on the interest of the visitors. This is a very powerful way to get ultra targeted traffic to your blog.

Finally, guest blogging helps you establish ongoing relationships with blog owners that can lead to future joint ventures. I post on your site, you post on mine. The conversation generally doesn’t end there. Now I can come back and say “Hey, we had something going there – let’s take this to the next level.” And just like a relationship progressing from the holding hands stage to the bedroom – you can have a powerful joint venture on your hands very quickly.

I hope you are starting to see the true power of guest blogging. It’s not about just one thing, it’s about building relationships, helping others out, and traffic – which happens to be a by product of the whole process.

Have you written guest post for any blog? What is your opinion about guest blogging? Is it win-win situation for both guest poster and blog owner, or just the later one?

Absolutely agree with you.

On a similar topic, we at TechChunks recently opened our gates to Guest Bloggers with some really cool incentives for the writers. Seeing the amount of response I’ve been getting, I must say, it was a good decision!

I love guest posting! I love having people guest post on my blog too. I’m amazed at the people I’m meeting and the relationships being built through sharing our voices. I’m putting “guest post on shout me loud” on my To Do list :D

Please take a look at my blog and see if you’d like to write something for my blog called ThatGirlisFunny.
