5 Useful Google Reader Chrome Extensions

Google reader is one of the best free tool to manage feeds and read feeds. Though, I’m not really a big fond of classic look of Google reader and use third party readers like Feed-demon or Flipboard to read feeds. Here I’m sharing some of the useful Google reader Chrome extensions, which you can use and enhance look of Google reader in Chrome.

Don’t like Google readers interface? Like the Leopard theme? Want to subscribe to a feed by just a click? Want to view get notified for new posts? Want to view Google Reader in Magazine style layout?  If yes, then you can get all these thing by installing 5 Chrome extensions which I am going to share with you.

Useful Chrome addons for Google Reader:

1) Google Reader Notifier

As the name suggests, this extension notifies you of unread and new posts . Simply click on the extension icon near the URL bar to view unread posts’ titles, click the titles to go the post or select “Open Google Reader” from the menu to go to Google Reader. <Link>

2) Feedly

Feedly is cool extension integrated with Google Reader and shows unread posts in a magazine style layout. After installing feedly, a small icon will appear in the lower left corner of your browser from where you can save a page for reading it later, share it with your friends and also show related sites so you can also subscribe to them. <link>

3) FeedSquares

FeedSquares is a good alternative to Google Reader notifier and Feedly. It works as both the extensions mentioned above. It also shows posts in a cool and easy to read layout and also notifies of unread posts. Number of unread posts are shown near the icon. Click the icon to open Feedsquares reader. <Link>

4) RSS subscriber

This light weight extension lets you quickly subscribe to feeds in Google Reader by simply clicking on the URL  bar. It automatically find feed of a site and lets you subscribe to it and read it in Google reader. <Link>

5) Snow Leopard Google Reader

The last and the most beautiful, not much featured pack  like the above ones but this extension is worth a try. It transforms your Google reader into a new look as if you were using a mac. Just install this extension to see its features. <Link>
