We have already shared how to use Google alert to find what people are talking about you and now Google has announced a new service call Me on the Web, which can be use for the same purpose to monitor your online presence.
Me on the web can be access from your Google profile dashboard and you ca set up alert for your name, Email, site and for your brand. This is a good idea to keep an eye on what people are talking about you.
Here are couple of screenshots, which will show you how it works:
Though till now I have not spotted anything new in Me on the web service. It looks same as Google alerts but with a new name. Anyways, if you still have not set up alerts for your name, Email, site, site link and so on, you should do it now. Though this service doesn’t allow you to add unlimited alerts. After 6 links, it will ask you to add more alerts via Google alerts. I believe, Google should allow to set unlimited alerts from this service, as it will be handy for users.
Also you can use this tool to get ideas in your niche. More over this is also a very useful service to find out when you site is hacked or infected.

Though I’ve never really used Google Alerts for this purpose, it won’t hurt to try the new service! Thanks for the early tip

Finally something i will use. I wish Google also integrates Webmasters Tools and Analytics with ME so that i get everything under one hood.

Awesome web service. Monitoring online presence can be very helpful for any business by knowing who has mentioned you or who are interested on your products and services. You’re very right.
