Google has been updating page rank after every 3-4 months. Roughly 4 times in a year. Latest Page rank update happened in February 2012.
Here is good news for all those who have been waiting for Page Rank update from long time. Finally Google rolled out a major Page Rank update and you can see changes on all major website.
Though it’s a bad news for ShoutMeLoud as our Page rank dropped to Page rank 4 from earlier page rank of 5. Anyways, I hope that in next update I will be able to bring it back to 5 or better 6. 
. Though I’m not surprised with this drop as I linked a lot to external sites since last update.
Here is PR update of all of other blogs in the network:
- CallingAllGeeks: PR 3 (Still the same)
- WpHostingDiscount: PR 2 (1st PR update)
- Chromoz: PR 2 (Still the same)
Though I expected CallingAllGeeks Page rank to reach atleast 4 but seems like we have to wait for one more update. Anyways, it’s good that finally Google updated it’s page rank and that too in starting of January. It’s hard to predict next PR update but I’m expecting it to happen somewhere around April 2011.

Well, was expected it to reach atleast 3 as the predictions were showing it would go to 4, but it remains stuck at 2

Yah it was kind of bummer to see PR drop here at SML though it’s ok since it’s a community blog and we have been giving link to many PR 0 blog. Good news is many of my other blogs got some PR specially ThemePremium.com getting PR 4 is a good news now.

Don’t bother about Page rank Ayush, Concentrate on traffic and backlink from Good source and you will get your first PR update by next update. Best of luck!

Are you sure that linking out has a negative impact on the PR of a blog? Asking because my understanding is that Google penalty for excessive linking does not wait till the scheduled update.

Hi Harsh, you are right giving away too many links to PR 0 blogs will affect our rankings. Hope you will get back your PR in he next update. BTW can you tell me how to find PR of inner pages?
You can use different link scraper tools, but that would be blackhat.

Can you please tell me if this means that even nofollow links to PR 0 blogs can hurt your own PR? I am glad that i finally saw my blog going from zero to PR2 but i have to say i was expecting more
. Also, i expected from some of my posts to have some PR because they had PR 4-5 backlinks, but instead my other posts that had no external backlinks jumped to PR 1-2. Did google catch me spamming for those posts maybe?

Im using firefox extension Seoquake and it lists PR for all your inner pages in Yahoo site explorer.

For me, this update has done no good… For Equitipz.com it went down from PR3 to 2 and Technolism.com is still 0
have got updates on 10 of about 40 pages till now, languages update english, italian, czech and polish, no changes on all my german blogs, so i hope google has some goodies for them tomorrow

Don’t worry about the PR, unless you’re looking to sell your website anytime soon, it doesn’t mean anything now. Others metrics are much more meaningful to Google now.

PR is a strange one. Like another poster one website that I work on a lot dropped from 3 to 2 which was a bit of a surprise. Others that I expected to drop since I hadn’t done any work on them or links stayed the same….
For me its a great update, all of my sites got 3.
Most of my websites got PR hike! One even got a PR5 from PR4 and few to PR3 as their first update! Hope to get more in the next update.
It should be just a Feel Good Factor and Bloggers should not get overwhelmed by it. Focus on the Content and Monetize Part and this PR thing is just an Add-On to make you happy.
SML has been doing great, I have been following it from over a year and the quality of post is very good.
Would like to se a Redesign of this Site soon.

(1) Does the PR of our blog/site also fall if we link to guest author’s blog/site in the author bio. and if his blog/site happens to be PR 0 or less?
(2) Does it also affects our blog/site if we accept lots of guest posts even if we give one link back to their blog/site in their author bio.?

The page rank of my site http://www.techtipsgeek.com remains 1. But the page rank of techtipsgeek.com raised to 2. I am using WordPress and techtipsgeek.com is always redirect to its www version. But I could not understand the reason of two different page rank of my domain. Any idea?
For me , it was not good. my pr dropped to 2 from 3 . same with other websites. i thought i would rank higher as hv done lot seo and also traffic has gradually increased. Does pr lower search engine traffic?
I am also down from PR4 to PR3.

Its over a year now and I am still stuck with PR zero.
Can a website that has not been updated for almost a year now gain on Page Rank? That’s what happened with one of my old website. When I sold it in December Page Rank was 4. Now it has gone up to 5. In contrast, my Specky Geek blog is still at zero.

Previously, My Page rank was 3, but it decreased to 1. With no change in traffic.
PR is something controversial and hard to know whether it goes up or down, anyway you still have PR4 while I have zero PR
This PR update didn’t gives me a change but i noticed of downtime for some of my new blog posts in search engine all posts of January 2011 lost its ranking while for all keywords I was ranking on 1 to 4 position’s. Any body here can tell me why this is happened to my blog posts. Not only for me I noticed for some of my competitors too. My blog has PR2 while a new blog with PR1 got ranked on all of my positions. Please help me and let me know where is the problem and what I have to do to get ranked back

The reason why SML Page Rank dropped from 5 to 4 is because of too many out bound links.
My blogs PR are the same, only 2 of my blogs got PR increase by 1.

It was a long awaited update in the history of Google. I am happty to get a long jump from PR3 to PR6 for my . I worked hard on one another but stil it has PR0. I think reason is sub domain. Next update may be helpful.

I personally don’t believe in page rank. While it doesn’t hurt, as long as your site has good content and attracts both good comments and return users, your value to Google is probably much higher.
For example, I have sites with PR4 right now that get 50 visitors per day since I don’t keep up with them. But this site gets far more traffic than 50, for sure
