Google announced new Sitemap Generator Tool

Google has announed the release of new open source Sitemap generator tool.

According to official Google blog they have created this sitemap generator tool to create a difference among other available tools. Most of the tools which are available usually crawl website and generate a XML report though the new Google Sitemap generator tool is supposed to do the same thing but with much better functionality. The Google Sitemap generator tool will use different ways to crawl your website and then create different sitemaps according to it.

Though one important thing is that it’s “Server plug-in” .

Google Sitemap Generator is a server plug-in that can be installed on both Linux/Apache and Microsoft IIS Windows-based servers

So that means either you need to be server administrator or need to know one who can handle this.

For now I’m not going to try my hand on this instead I can’t because I have access only to FTP program and my cpanel but not the server but if anyone of you are interested. You can get the code from:
