Google Adds Music Search Feature

in Google

With the introduction of an integrated music search, your favorite search engine will now be able to help you discover music you like. Google introduced this service at a concert in West Hollywood recently.

Google users searching for a song will get the song details as the top result with links to services such as Lala, MyMusic, iLike, Pandora, Rhapsody etc.(the list goes on) where they can listen to the song and also buy it. The service could make life much easier for us music fans.

googlemusicEarlier music searches would only lead to lyrics sites with ads and spam mostly or wikipedia entries at the best. With a likely collaboration with Sony’s Gracenote Google is very soon going to add a lyrics plugin too. Imagine a scenario where you couldn’t get the lyrics properly and could only remember the chorus lines. All you do is Google that and it steers you to the right song. Those who have used Shazam or other service know how good this is. I’ll discuss other similar apps in my future posts.

Thanks to this newly added dimension from Google we are set to get a richer experience while looking for out favorite tunes. So, music lovers here you go > google.com/landing/music/
