Google adds Alexa Rank into its Search

in Google

Update : Sorry for this post. As Guest Author and Editor forget to verify the validity of the post. This Alexa result  is because of alexa  toolbar sparky. Or writer thought we are planning for prank. :) . Thanks to commentator for pointing out about this error.

Google keeps on coming with innovations to enhance the user experience. Be it introducing new social  tools like Google Wave or enhancing the look and feel for Orkut to make it stand at competetion to Facebook, Google is always experimenting.

This time it is including Alexa rank directly into the search engine which adds a small Alexa Rank Meter below the Search results that get displayed when you make searches for any keywords. See the screen grab for this below.

Alexa Rank Meter displayed below each post

When you place your mouse cursor over this Alexa Rank meter, the Alexa rank for the particular search result page is displayed as shown below.

This enhancement in the Google search engine itself will prove really beneficial as you may directly see the value that Alexa gives to the page on which you get your desired results.

This seems like a terrible idea- Alexa is notoriously unreliable since it’s only based off of people who use the Alexa toolbar. Personally, I don’t know anyone who does- do you?

I’m disappointed to see Google include such a questionable data source in their results.

I used to use alexa toolbar but I realize that it is making mozilla slow so I removed it later on..

Oops. This is not true. The author should have used Alexa Sparky (toolbar) in his browser. Alexa toolbar provides an option to show the rank meter in the search results.

Better, you can remove this post.

Alexa is notoriously unreliable and the numbers don’t mean a thing

if Google ranks sites based on this they are crazy

Alexa absolutely cannot measure a site rank right.
