Adding one more tool to friendfeed series and that is Friendfeed desktop notifier. Friendfeed desktop notifier is basically an adobe air application which will keep you updated about what’s happening in your follower stream.
You can select the group whose friendfeed notification you want to receive and this way you will avoid lots of updates in real time.
