Early Access to WordPress 3.1 Features: Linking, Sorting and Paging

    By in WordPress

We all are waiting for next version of WordPress that is 3.1 and here is the good news for all WordPress users that we will be getting an early access to the beta version which will be rolled out tonight. There are awesome features in new version which will make your WordPress experience much better than earlier.

Few new features which are expected in new version are:

    Interlinking:

Whenever we want to interlink any old post to new one we need to follow 4-5 steps to get it interlinked but now with new interlinking feature, you can enter any URL to create a link or search your posts right from link popup. This will make interlinking the posts more easy and quick, which is very useful for all the bloggers.

    Page navigation:

This is one is really awesome, rather I would say productive. Right now when we have navigate through pages, post, media files etc we have to click forward or backward button but its time consuming when we have lots of posts or pages. But with new version we can directly jump to any page by changing editable number shown in pagination.

    pagination

    Column sorting:

New version of WordPress is providing you the feature to click a column header to change display to sort out things by authors, dates etc. You can do it just by clicking on column header to sort by that column or to reverse the order.

    Blue color scheme:

Now no more boring gray and blue dashboard color schemes. We can now experience the new blue color scheme which is based on same shading as gray one. According to WordPress team, the reason for same shading is that it won’t create distraction for us while writing posts. But then also I would love to see more colorful dashboard, hope WordPress rethink about that.

Ajax Search Results and IE9 Support:

Now we will get faster search results and we won’t need to refresh again and again. Apart from it the problems faced during drag and drop or any other feature while using IE9 has been fixed and now we can enjoy WordPress properly in IE9.

I must say that these are awesome and badly needed features but if you think that there should be more changes or if you find any bugs after trying the Beta version, you can provide feedback on WordPress blog. And don’t forget to share your experience with us, once you try the new beta 3.1 version of WordPress.

Among these, interlinking feature is going to be best in 3.1 for me. I use two – three plugins to search the related post to add the proper related links.

Thank for sharing. The Interlinking feature would be very useful for me as I now link all my post manually. Other feature are not important for me now.
