I’m sure most of tech savvy users here have heard about Google releasing Google chrome OS(Operating system). This is a good news for all who wants to try new Google Chrome operating system can do it with new Unofficial Google chrome OS linux project. <Source>

The new unofficial beta version if based on Open SUSE.

At the time of writing Google chrome OS 0.4.220 is available and ready to be download.

Features of Google chrome OS

  • GNOME 2.24 desktop environment
  • Google Chrome 4.0.220 web browser
  • OpenOffice.org 3.0 office suite
  • GIMP 2.6 image editor
  • Flash Player 10.0 plugin

System requirement from Google chrome OS

Google chrome is not resource hungry and can be run on operating system with 1 GB of hard disk space and 256 Mb of RAM.

I think its a fake, Google haven’t make any announcement in its official blog.

it is real, we were on about the google operating system coming soon in collage today. Sh0uld be a beta soon.

google chrome os is a bit tacky, i didn’t like it. I saw the screenshots and it was very simple.

It’s one of those custom builds openSUSE has been providing of late, and I must say it looks as Chrome-ish as possible! Of course, it’s not official and Chrome OS might probably be loads different that it.

Hai, this is not a real GOS. Its a fan made fake. It is built using SUSE Studio.

I’m a big Google fan but I can’t seem to get myself excited about Chrome. On the other hand, I’m surprisingly anticipating Windows 7 to be an awesome upgrade!

win7RC is really awesome! add to it windows live n you can’t ask for more! I tried installing unofficial chrome-os-beta a month back but got an error msg :
Unable to access specified disk, atleast a couple of times :(
Win7 more than made up for my vista misadventure though :)

This One is Fake!
I checked the Footer of The site..
anyways, harsh did u download?? it is 500+ mb.. and my internet speed sucks..
if u have downloaded and if in case it works. can u write a feedback on it..
