Clean Your Music Library with TuneUp

    by Rajat Kumar

All of us have music libraries of our own with varying size and genre though. However, most of our music does not come from good sources and we end up having a messy library which is often difficult to manage. For instance, those torrent downloads with songs called Track ## and artists as Unknown Artist or even the name of the website we downloaded it from. Well, TuneUp Media brings us a solution. This software will help you to clean your music library.

TuneUp is a utility for iTunes compatible with your PC or Mac. It aims at cleaning your music library which would be almost impossible to achieve if done manually. It not only cleans the tracks of missing and incorrect data like Artist Name, Track Name, Track Number, Genre etc but also fetches the missing cover art. While the latter is not very difficult as iTunes can fetch cover art without any plugin but correct media info is a prerequisite.

The interface is very easy to use. All we need to do is drag the songs from the iTunes pane to the TuneUp pane on the right. You have the option to verify the data before applying it to the tracks, but you can trust it most of the time. I have tried other softwares for the same task and this is the best so far. Almost ninety five percent of the results are accurate.

Also, since the data is stored as ID3 tags in the music file, you only need to clean one media file once. Now, no more missing cover art. We have all experienced Cover Flow in iTunes and also on the iPhone or iPod. Now, make full use of Cover Flow with no missing Album Art.

It also has other bonus features like alerting you of upcoming concerts about your favorite artist but its mainly the media cleaning that we are thrilled with.

Don’t take my word but go ahead and download the free trial and be thrilled by it yourself. The free trial will let you clean hundred songs and download fifty Album covers for free. Here’s the link.

The software can be purchased for $29.95 for a lifetime ownership. You can also purchase an Annual license for $19.95. It’s not a bad idea to go for an annual license as a majority of the media files will need cleaning only once. Those interested may use the Promo Code “THEYEAR2010″ before February 5,2010 to avail a twenty percent discount off the product.

Tell us how you liked this utility and will help you to clean your music library. It might also be a perfect idea for a gift to your music-crazy friend.

Hey, interesting software but Winamp’s Auto-Tag can perform the same task and on top of that it is absolutely free.

Yeah but winamp does not sync up with your iPod which is the main reason people use iTunes in the first place.
