browsershotsRecently I found a Site called Browsershots, Browsershots is a open source online service and can be used to create screenshots of your blog or website in 70 Different Browsers which can be downloaded.

These includes browser compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, BSD.

If you want to take screenshots of your blog/site daily then you need to Register.

But Unfortunately, I must say this handy tool will be misused.

How Browsershots can be misused?
At the Time of taking Screenshot, if you will select all 70 Browsers then 70 unique visitors from different locations will visit to your Blog/site to take screenshot.

statics

It means this tool is making some how more Visitors or traffic for any Blog/sites. If anyone got attention on this point then there will be a chance of Misuse of this tool.

Users will think to make more visitors by just taking screenshot again and again.

Whats the benefit even if a website owner tries to increase his no. of visitors by such method. He or she will surely not be earning any revenue from this. Apart from this, doing so repeatedly will increase the bounce rate unnecessarily.

What do you mean by this – “But for some of users visitors love impression to their sites.”

Are you saying that if I use the service, I get 70 unique visits instantly? How is that possible?

70 visits , If that’ true – it will be misused – but really doesn’t make any sense in the long run!

To my knowledge, u will not get 70 unique visitors. I have tested this with many of my sites and came to found that it is something different.

Browsershots is entirely different and it will not be counted 100% as unique visitors. Many of those 70 items will take screenshots as screenscrapers which will be totally considered as either spams or spiders. So most of the popular analytics tools will not report all as unique visitors.

I am 100% sure about that.

yes this tool will be misused as the webmasters will be showing their blog with fake stats. and i don’t think there is any point of checking our sites in so many browsers

IndianCashmaker there is a point of checking your site in some of the most popular browsers…
Any website which is not compatible with most commonly used browser tend to have higher bounce rate.

I telling this from my own experience..

Browsershots is nice if you need to see how your site looks and if it is compatible. You could need a complete image of your site for an idea or post.

As for using it for stats, that would just be stupid, nothing really gained from doing that.
