in Blogging

If you have been following shoutmeloud for long time, you will notice some new regular face as a commentator. The best part is they are not spam commentator and always add values to the post.

Now the thing is , how do I approach or how do I make one time reader a regular reader on my blog. If you notice despite of being a tech niche blog, I write extensively on Blogging, Making money online and webhosting reviews.

Remember my previous post on

How commenting can help you get 1000+ feed subscriber in few days. I work on that issue most of the time. but there is a catch, suppose I’m writing on technology post, and my front page is full of posts related to technology and I’m commenting on a make money online blog or a blog which right extensively on Blogging tips. He might not be comfortable putting his valuable addition via comment.

What my strategy is , when I write posts related to Blogging. I add comments on Blogs related to Blogging. Either be it Problogger blog or any less traffic blog. My aim is to get as many readers as possible from Blogging Niche.

Same strategy I use for technology and make money online posts. Now the thing is if you are showing them only one post related to Blogging, that might put them off and they will hit back and increase your bounce rate.

Remember my post on why round up of blog post is important for Bloggers, I try to interlink with one such post or interlink with related post at the beginning or at the end of post. This helps me to retain new readers and make them a loyal readers.   The same job is accomplished by related post and linkwithin widget.

So in case if you comment on some blog regularly, also try to get new readers by commenting on other related blog in your niche.

Do let me know if you feel this strategy might be helpful or this may not work. Any insight or view will be appreciated.

@IndianCashMaker
it may be because you are on blogger platform, and because of that you are not getting good comments

I comment on any posts from the different blogs that look intersting. I found out that if I comment maybe the readers will follow my link or the blog author will comment on my blog post. Greg Ellison

Interesting method. I’m currently writing in a very narrow niche and most of my entries should interest everyone trying to make money online. With that said I might use it for some of my Swedish sites.

I comment on different sites, make money, blogging, personal, etc. It helps as my site is getting more visitors and comments.

I will try your strategy for a week or two and see if it works, but I will still comment on my regular sites. I also find that CommentLuv can lure some visitors to your site depending on your last post title, that seems to bring in more users.

It’s a very good tip and I try to do it myself too, as much as possible (probably why I found this blog in the first place, and I’m now subscribing ;) )

But the problem with comment-based traffic, the way I see it, is that you’re more likely to attract other bloggers to your site and they are less likely to click your ads. I *think* so, as we bloggers are so used to ads that we probably don’t even notice them anymore, right? Still, affiliate products (via reviews), could be a good income source from comment-based traffic.
