Google chrome is best known for its minimalist appearance. More over I love Chrome browser for it’s speed, but I miss many Firefox features in Chrome, Specially the addons. Here are 5 Firefox Addons which will make your Firefox browser looks like Chrome:
Now we shall see how each Firefox add-on contribute to our target.
1. ChromiFox Extreme Firefox add-on:
This Firefox add-on changes Firefox’s default color to Google chrome’s blue color. Tab appearance is changed similar to Google chrome. When you install this Firefox add-on, it installs Chromifox Companion Firefox add-on which is useful to configure appearance of your Firefox browser. After installing Chromifox your Firefox add-on should look like this one below.

To hide the search bar, go to ‘View’ in menu bar, then ‘Toolbars’ then ‘Customize’. Now customize window opens. Just drag the search bar inside the window and press ‘Done’. Now the search bar is gone
2. Location Bar2 Firefox add on:
Highlights the original domain in the url, which clearly separates root domain from others. Now your Firefox should look like the one below.

3. Tabs on top:
This Firefox add-on just place the tab bar above the location bar. At this stage your browser will look somewhat like Google Chrome except status bar at the bottom and the title bar at the top.
4. AutoHide status bar:
This hides the status bar when the browser is idle. You can see the status bar when you hover over the link or when the page is loading.
5. Hide Caption Titlebar Plus (Smart):
This Firefox add-on Hides the title bar, thus getting more screen space which is obviously one of the plus points in Google chrome.

After installing all these Firefox add ons, just compare your Firefox browser with Google Chrome. You will find very less difference between those two.
Do let us know which browser you love the most? Firefox or Chrome?

I like ChromiFox.I love Firefox due to its large range of addons but chrome interface is much cleaner and eye candy. This addon gives you both pleasures.
Thanks for the comment. I agree with your point. I like Google Chrome for its speed and its simplicity
wow……new addons for google chrome………….keep sharing………..
Thanks! I will!!
That was really cool for Chrome lovers. I like both Chrome and FF. But I mostly use Chrome and rarely use FF when need of addons like Page Speed, Firebug etc. This is really a good info for me. Thanks
yeah me too! I use both Chrome and Firefox. Its the add on gallery of Firefox that makes it interesting!!
Thanks for the last one, which was unknown to me, though FF is good for web developers and chrome for speed lovers..:)
Yeah I agree with you. Firefox 4 is expected to have improvement in speed. I am eagerly expecting it.
you found out cool addons, thank you very much
Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the info.
Another Firefox user too reported this in Mozilla add on page comment
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/4029018
Since I use windows xp, I missed this point. There is no add on to replace this. If you know one, please report it!!!
One of the key features of Chrome is its “New Tab” page, where bookmarks appears as a toolbar and automatically generates thumbnails and links to the most used websites. With some add-on like this, THEN you have Firefox a-la Chrome!
yeah absolutely.
New tab Jump start firefox add on
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8914/
has the similar functionality, but the appearance is not the same, so I just skipped it. Do you know any Firefox add on with the same appearance and the same functionality?
Whoaa! This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks! It’s true that it doesn’t look the same as in Chrome, but provides the same functionality. Besides, it’s an open source project (oh yeah!), so it should be easy to change the CSS styles. Thanks buddy!
Glad! you found my reply to be useful. It appears you have some interest in creating and tweaking Firefox add ons. Why don’t you create one yourself with the same appearance and functionality as Google Chrome? I am eager to write a post about it
Well, my experience on “creating and tweaking” Firefox add-ons it’s zero, but I’m a web developer, and I know that Firefox add-ons are basically HTML, CSS and lots of Javascript, so the “add-on hack” idea came up instantly. Maybe if I make some time, I can get into it, and of course, let you know!
Thanks!
