When the blogs first came into existence, they were used as online journals. In other words, there were only personal blogs. But time has changed since then. Nowadays, blogging is more of a business. People write blogs to make money or to promote their products. The usual trend is that you start blogging, gain some traffic and place some ads for money. This trend has been around some time that most of the blogs have started to look the same. The competition in blogging is so tough. You need to establish yourself as unique if you wish to attain success in blogging, long term.
Honestly, there are unlimited tips which you can follow to make your blog better, but here I will be concentrating on the basic of Blogging and that is “Content”. No matter, how great your design is and how popular your site is on social media, by the end of the day it’s your content which will make your blog stand out. Even if you have a great blog, and voice of your blog changes, this will put off your regular readers.
Make your blog better by offering quality stuff:
As I mentioned, I’m not going to talk about things like Design, typography and other stuff, which you can easily outsource. I’m going to talk about improving your content, which is the backbone of your blog. My suggestion, if you are working really hard to make your blog better, then instead of working on endless link building, improving design and adding endless Blogger widgets, work on quality of your content. It could be in many ways, that includes Language, Grammar, way of presentation, images, making your content authentic.
Use Casual Tone
One of the things you can see in new blogs that are started with the aim of making money don’t have a personality. Even if it’s a news blog or tutorial blog, most of them are made like it is written by a robot. Frankly, the formal tone can be a little boring and web surfers don’t want to read this “hoity-toity” text. So the next time you write a new blog post, try to be more personal. Think of the writing as being a conversation you are having with a friend. Using humour and other personality characteristics in your writing will make people want to keep coming back to read your newest articles.
Don’t write too much
People don’t want to read all the text on the internet. If they wanted to read a novel, they would have just that. Try to stick to your point and keep it nice and short. If you want to convey a long message to your readers, consider breaking them into several posts. This can will not only increase your page views, but also more people will read them since most of them don’t have time to read a long article.
Check your spelling
Although the tone of your blog should be kept casual, you should still edit your work. You should always check your spellings and basic grammar before you publish your post. For WordPress users, there is a plugin named “After the deadline” that checks your spelling and grammar just before the post is published. Also, if you are not from country where English is your first language, here are some posts which will help you to improve:

People who like your content will be always be looking for newer content. If you only update once a month, then these loyal fans will move on for next big thing. Readers on the internet have a really short attention span and you need to impress them often to help them retain the memory about you. It is a good idea to schedule posts so that new posts are published regularly. A good posting frequency would be at least 3-4 posts a week.
